How to Set Up Missed Webinar and Webinar Complete Redirects
Use separate URLs for people who watch your webinar and people who miss it. For example, you can send attendees to a sales page while sending no-shows to a replay page or follow-up offer.
Step-by-Step Configuration Instructions

Step 1: Open the redirect settings
- Open the webinar you want to update.
- Select Miscellaneous.
- Find Missed Webinar / Webinar Complete Redirect.
- Click Configure.
Step 2: Add the Webinar Complete Redirect URL
- Find the Webinar Complete Redirect URL field.
- Enter the URL where you want to send people who watch the webinar through to the end.
- Include the complete address, for example:
https://example.com/thanks-for-watching
This could be a sales page, booking page, application form, or another follow-up page.
Step 3: Add the Missed Webinar Redirect URL
- Find the Missed Webinar Redirect URL field.
- Enter the URL where you want to send people who registered but did not watch the webinar.
- Include the complete address, for example:
https://example.com/watch-the-replay
This could be a replay page, a new registration page, or a follow-up offer.
Step 4: Save your changes
Click Save to apply the redirect settings.
How the Redirect Works
| Attendee's situation | Destination |
|---|---|
| The attendee watches the webinar and reaches the end | Webinar Complete Redirect URL |
| The attendee registers but does not watch, then visits the webinar after it ends | Missed Webinar Redirect URL |
| No custom redirect is configured | The default Webinar Complete Page is shown until the replay expires, after which the viewer returns to the registration page |
If a complete redirect is configured, the Webinar Complete Page may appear briefly before the viewer is sent to the custom URL.
Important note about Public Webinars
Public Webinars do not collect individual attendee information such as names or email addresses. Attendance is anonymous, so test public webinar redirects using the public watch-page link rather than relying on a registered attendee’s details.
Prerequisites and Upstream Requirements
Before you begin, prepare the pages you want to use for each redirect:
- A Webinar Complete page for people who watched the webinar
- A Missed Webinar page for people who registered but did not watch
Use the full web address for each page, beginning with http:// or https:// .
If you plan to test the redirects, use a duplicate or test webinar with a short video. Test with a fresh browser session and separate test registrations so the attendance status is easy to verify.
How to test the setup:
Test both redirect paths separately:
- Create or duplicate a test webinar with a short video.
- Enter a test URL in Webinar Complete Redirect URL.
- Enter a different test URL in Missed Webinar Redirect URL.
- Click Save.
- Register for the webinar using one test email address.
- Watch the webinar through to the end.
- Confirm that the browser opens the Webinar Complete Redirect URL.
- Register again using a different test email address.
- Do not open or watch the webinar.
- Wait until the webinar session ends, then open the second attendee's webinar link.
- Confirm that the browser opens the Missed Webinar Redirect URL.
Use a fresh browser session or new test registration each time you change the settings. A page preview does not confirm that the live redirect is working.
Common Issues & Solutions
| Symptom | Root Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| The redirect settings cannot be found | The settings are located in the Miscellaneous area | Open Miscellaneous > Missed Webinar / Webinar Complete Redirect > Configure. :cite[shi, ypr] |
| The URL is rejected when saving | The address is incomplete or is not a valid web URL | Enter the full URL, including http:// or https:// . :cite[ypr] |
| A viewer is sent to the wrong page | The test registration has the wrong attendance status, or an older session is being reused | Test with a fresh browser session and a new registration. Watch one registration through to the end and leave the other registration unwatched. |
| The Webinar Complete Page appears before the redirect | The completion page may load briefly before the redirect takes effect | Allow a few seconds for the redirect to complete, then confirm that the final URL matches the configured destination. [5] |
| No redirect occurs | The URL was not saved, or the field is empty | Reopen Miscellaneous > Missed Webinar / Webinar Complete Redirect, confirm the URL is present, and click Save again. |
