Can I Upload a Webinar Video From a URL?

When you create a webinar, you can choose from:

  • Use placeholder video
  • Browse Library
  • Upload my video

To use a video URL, upload it to My Library first. You can then select the uploaded video from your webinar setup.

Before You Start

You will need:

  • A full video URL that starts with http://   or https://  , or
  • An .mp4   video file saved on your computer

You do not need to create a webinar before uploading a video to My Library.

Upload a Video From a URL

  1. Go to My Library.
  2. Click Upload Video.
  3. Enter a name for the video in Video name.
  4. Click Video from URL.
  5. Paste the video link into the Video URL field.
  6. Click Upload.
  7. Wait for the upload to finish.

Once the video has been added to your library:

  1. Open Create Webinar or return to your webinar setup.
  2. Under Webinar Video, select Browse Library.
  3. Select the video you uploaded.
  4. Continue setting up your webinar.

The My Library upload window also supports uploading a video file from your computer and shows the available video formats.

Upload a Video From Your Computer

You can also upload a video directly while creating your webinar:

  1. Go to Create Webinar.
  2. Enter your Webinar Name.
  3. Select your Webinar Type.
  4. Under Webinar Video, select Upload my video.
  5. Click Click to upload Video.
  6. Choose an .mp4   file from your computer.
  7. Wait for the upload to finish.
  8. Click Create Webinar.

The upload option in the webinar setup accepts MP4 files only. The uploaded file name and size appear after the upload is complete.

How to Check Your Setup

Your webinar is ready to create when:

  • Your Webinar Name is entered.
  • A Webinar Type is selected.
  • A video is selected for an Automated Webinar or Dedicated Replay.
  • A Livestream Source is selected for a Livestream Webinar.
  • A video, livestream source, and fallback video are selected for a Hybrid Webinar.

The Create Webinar button becomes available when the required information for the selected webinar type is complete.

Common Issues and Solutions

Problem Solution
I do not see a place to paste a URL under Webinar Video. This is expected. Upload the video through My Library > Upload Video > Video from URL, then select it using Browse Library.
My computer file was rejected. The direct upload option in webinar setup accepts MP4 files only. Export or convert the video as an .mp4   file and try again.
My video URL does not work. Make sure you entered the complete URL, beginning with http://   or https://  . A direct link to the video file works best. If the upload still fails, download the video and upload it as an MP4 file instead.
I uploaded the video, but I cannot find it in the library. Wait for the upload to finish, then refresh My Library and search for the video using the name you entered.
I cannot create the webinar yet. Check that your webinar name, webinar type, and all video or livestream fields required for that webinar type are complete.
